Piattini on 226 Newbury Street

Courtney, the rooms, and I wanted to get a bite to eat downtown before wondering the streets of the North End in Boston.

Piattini seemed interesting online and my Zagaat Restaurant book gave good reviews as well as it was in our price range.

(We both had appetizers and small dishes on top of a bottle of wine... total cost a person $31! Not Bad At All!)

I was craving Italian spicy calamari (especially after my employer's daughter mentioned it at lunch the other day- my mouth has been watering for the taste since)

I started with a small ceaser salad and had the small spicy calamari HOT dish. (The waiter told me it was not the typical fried calamari but, it was spicy and I was not going to make that stop me from ordering it)

Court got the small greens with house dressing salad and small HOT lobster ravioli.

These were ideal portions especially for two 22 year olds looking forward to an adventurous night while twittering and having inappropriate conversations.

Although the food took a bit longer than expected especially since, my reservation was made for 7:45PM, both the food and the wine, a fruity Pinot Grigio, made the dining experience bliss.

The waiter was very generous to us… coming over when I lifted my hand immediately but, Court and I* heard him being quite rude to the Hostess so we left him a sub- standard tip.
